Some food for thought

I am learning to be more bold in my beliefs. So here it is family- I would like to challenge all of you to really think about your food. Ive been reading a lot and thinking a lot about the way we eat as Americans. And I think we are fairly irresponsible as to where our food comes from and how it got the store shelves. I realize and appreciate so much more the example Mom has set- homemade bread, meat sparingly, and as little packaged/fast food as possible. We should not let the market tell us how to feed our sacred bodies.
Here is a video to think about:

and for a more uplifting thought consider this quote from Viktor Shklovsky:
"Habitualization devours works, clothes, furniture, one's wife, and the fear of war. 'If the whole complex lives of many people go on unconsciously, then lives are as if they had never been.' And art exists that one may recover the sensation of life; it exists to make one feel things...The purpose of art is to impart the sensation of things as they are perceived and not as they are known. The technique of of art is to make objects unfamiliar, to make forms difficult, and to increase the difficulty and length of perception because the process of perception is an aesthetic end in itself and must be prolonged."

Did Emy put you up to this?!?

Look...I'll admit that I went to McDonald's last night. We were going just to get vanilla cone's, but I was hungry. Emy didn't want me to, but I ordered a cheeseburger. Not a Big Mac or even a 1/4 pounder with cheese, just a little, boring cheeseburger.

It was a weak moment...I'll do better.
