Microcredit...ending poverty everywhere! Even your allowance can help...

I wanted to be cool like my wife. So here is one of my passions...

Microcredit is eliminating poverty throughout the world, and even our spare change can help. For any who are interested in understanding what microcredit is, you can check out http://www.kbyutv.org/smallfortunes/ , watch http://www.pbs.org/kbyu/smallfortunes/videopreview.html
or
you can borrow the small fortunes film from me to learn more.

For any interested in how they can donate, check out KIVA: http://www.kiva.org/app.php

It is a great website that lets you loan out as much money as you want, $1 or $100 to a person registered online for a loan. Then they update you on the progress of your loan and then you get paid back. It really is an amazing website that lets you literally see the progress and good that your loan is doing.

I am afraid the only safe rule is to give more then we can spare...If our charities do not at all pinch or hamper us,...they are too small. There ought to be things we should like to do and cannot do because our charitable expenditure excludes them.

That Kiva website is really cool. When Emy wakes up I think we'll look at it together. I just breezed through it and found a few folks in my native Peru.

I went to a bunch of micro-credit seminars in college...granted that I mostly went because I was chasing a girl I'm glad I didn't get...but I was very impressed with the idea.

Thanks James.
