Fun Songs Made Funner

Hello Family
As some of you might know, I am making some church songs (okay, just 2 primary songs so far) into dance-type songs. I think that for some songs it can be appropriate and other songs it might not be. For example, Sweet Hour of Prayer = not appropriate. I know my Heavenly Father Loves Me = appropriate (I know this is a point that can be argued). Anyway, feel free to weigh in on the ethics of me doing this. Also, what primary song do you think could be made into a more dancey number in a pleasing way? I'm interested. So far I've done "I Know My Heavenly Father Loves Me" and "Love Is Spoken Here." I think Janice Kapp Perry would approve.
Love,
Dane

Popcorn Popping..........you know, those ones that aren't about doctrine. Didn't they have one as a rock song on the Singles Ward? I'd love to hear your stuff.

I dunno, I think that doctrine could and should be used in all parts of our life. It shouldn't just be used during the solemn times, but during times of rejoicing as well. I never saw Singles Ward, but I heard they were punk rock like covers. Originally I was against that, but now I wonder if that person was honestly trying to express that belief. If not, if it was just to be angsty or whatever, then I would disagree with it. My thoughts are rather convoluted... It's a tricky subject.

dane usually i feel the same way about things like this as you (i blame it on our tma foundation classes) But i cant really justify putting Heavenly Father's name to a dance beat. other beat yes and i think other gospel principles would be ok. I mean the pioneers loved to dance but i think they used other topics to fill their dance numbers. maybe not though- that would be interesting to look at. heres a short list of possibilites: all things bright and beautiful, book of mormon stories, choose the right way, do as im doing, we'll bring the world His truth, and the one about wanting to be a missionary when i grow up.
