Dating

I saw this great quote in the book Emy gave us called "Stengthening Our Families: An In Depth Look at the Proclamation on the Family". It comes from an article called "Chastity and Fidelity in Marriage and Family Relationships" by Terrance D. Olson. He wrote:

"So We are unmarried. We are dating. What manner of men and women are we to be? We are to be those who are being, thinking, and acting for the person we are with. When we lose ourselves in their behalf, the Lord will take care of the rest."

I thought that was interesting because it describes what happens when you finally end up with the right person. You just want them to be happy, you want to do whatever you can to make them well and whole. When you have that feeling about someone, you are getting close to being where you ultimately want to be with a partner. Just thought I would pass it along.

Hmmm...no comments yet on this one. Emy and I just had a family home evening lesson on a related subject.

As we're discovering every day, it sure seems like when any issues come up in a relationship (and they're always bound to) a lot of the time it's because we've stopped living for the other person.
