Ward Musical

Hello family.
So our stake is doing a musical type thing, by wards. On Monday, they asked me to make the music for it (the karaoke cd that they bought didn't end up working). It was very short notice, but I did come up with some stuff--I had time seeing as I was sick.

I arranged this jazzy version of "Pure Imagination."

Of the 4 numbers, they pretty much were all like that. A string section, a bass, a piano, a drum track. Except for the Oompa Loompa song. I asked if I could make it more "synthesizery."

And by that, I guess I meant "gangster rappy, West Coast style."

I'm really excited to see how this works out.

Hello family again
I'm realizing that sometimes Blogger posts stuff and it looks double spaced, and other times it looks single spaced. I really like single spaced (like on
this post). BLAM! Anyone know how to make this happen? Or anyone know how to indent on Blogger?

Dane,

I don't know how to do anything except just type. I don't even know how to hear your songs. I clicked on them but nothing happened. Is there something I am missing, like maybe a quick time something or other?

Hmm, maybe make sure your speakers are on? I guess it's a flash player. So you need to have the free flash plug-in installed. Everything uses flash these days so I can't imagine that you don't have it installe though. Do a google search of flash plugin for [insert whatever version of Windows you're running here] and it should give you a good link.

Dang Dane, I couldn't get your songs to play either, I have the latest Flash player and Adobe Shockwave?

As far as doing the indent thing, you can add whatever HTML you want. The way to do a single space is by typing " " without the quotes. You could just do that like 5 time in a row on each line.

 This is only a test
 There should be 3 spaces
at the start of these lines?

Let me try that again. What you're supposed to type in to force a space is:

You can use that in a sequence as many times as you want and it should work OK.

What is that funky character that it put on the front?

Well it's supposed to be the ampersand, followed by:

well, i tried it on a roomie's computer. we all run macs here, so i'm going to have to suggest that you get a mac.

Wait!!!!

Don't go buy a Mac just yet. It worked fine using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. The computer upstairs in Chicago has firefox installed I think...or you can go to www.mozilla.com

My favorite was the oompa-loompa song. We have a kickin' sub-woofer hooked up to our computer and our floor shook to the bass of that first song.

Dane, you're probably anti-American Idol, but you've got to check out this guy Blake from Seattle. He does all this beat-boxing and synthesized versions of songs - last week was Diana Ross. He's one on our favorites:
