Anyone?

Is there anyone else who is just ecstatic that today marks a new President, a new direction, and new goals? Is anyone else humbled by the progress our nation has made in its efforts to eradicate racism? Is anyone excited about the prospect of progression towards more health care, more concern for our earth, and more peace?

Or are you nervous about a liberal agenda? About the left controlling moral issues like abortion and gay marriage. Are you apprehensive about the change?

I have to admit, as proud as I am today of America and genuinely excited about the future, there is a certain heaviness that I have felt lately. There are such thing as too much change, as too much acceptance- acceptance of socially degrading behaviors and lifestyles. There can be too much blind obedience and too little active thinking.
But there is never enough peace. There is never enough compassion and concern for neighbors. There is never too much effort for the well being of humankind.  And until Christ comes again, there will never be an end to the work we need to do for a better, more just future. Reflection of today reminds me that there is so much to work for and so much opportunity in this great nation. It reminds me that our vote, no matter who won, was a fair vote. That we have the freedom to practice our religion and speak freely. I have hope in the good things that will come, even as we continue in these latter-days. And, dang it, I think we have a good President.

We need to open the canon blog up again. We're losing flavor with no creepy brazilians peeping in. And, i never check it b/c i only check our blog list for updates...and this feature doesn't allow it. All in favor say 'yes'.

Sorry Wynn. Looks like nobody is excited :(

I say open it until another creep leaves a comment. I guess? I prefer private.

Oh and Wynn, I think it's neat that we have our first black president. That is historic.

I think it is neat that we have or first partial black President. Do we forget his mother is from Kansas and is Caucasian? Why is it we never hear about that? I sincerely hope "we" can.

Wynn,
I love that the country is together and hoping. It doesn't happen often. Will the President be able to use that momentum to move us forward? I hope so, I truly hope so.
What is wonderful to me is that you kids care. How much better that is than apathy.
Love,

Dad
