Hurricane Kyle--S.O.S.

So it looks like Hurricane Kyle is going to miss us here in southern Maine, but it has been quite stormy around our parts. It is supposed to hit Bar Harbor and Stonington (where we were last weekend). Here are a few pics we took while on a nature walk a mile or so down from our house. These pictures are more remarkable when you consider that this part of the ocean is usually very calm with few waves if any. If you walk outside our house you can hear this rumble that sounds identical to a plane flying over the sky, but the sound never dissipates. It is a bit scary. It actually the roar of the ocean about a mile away from us where we shot these pics.

Not to worry though. We are prepared for worst case scenario...our 72 hour kit is out and ready next to our two flashlights. The bathtub is full of drinking water. And we sleep in life jackets. Oh, and our car is full of gas.

I remember when Grandma and Grandpa found a description in their apartment in St. John about living through a hurricane. It sounded so frightening. I remember the account said it sounded like a railroad train was going by their house. I hope you are safe and protected.

Wow! I am glad you have 72 hour kits! I wouldn't be surprised at all if you have to use them before the end of med school. I am glad you guys are safe and okay. Love you both!
