This week includes:
-writing a paper on supreme court justice Stephen Breyer's legal rhetoric from a really great book "Active Liberty". He explains liberty as freedom to participate in the government and not the freedom FROM government. "that view sees the Constitution as furthering active liberty, as creating a form of government in which all citizens share the government's authority, participating in the creation of public policy. It understands the Constitution's structural complexity as responding to practical needs, for delegation, for nondestructive public policies, and for protection of basic individual freedoms"
-writing the beginning of a paper on a play called about organ trafficking "Harvest" and how new historicism allows me to evaluate it with "the victims of human trafficking act of 2000" in equal weight. it seems there are is a whole lot of people that see others as objects and there is something so very wrong in that.
-A really interesting and moving discussion about the book of Job in Bible as literature class. While trying to figure out why God, if a loving God, lets bad things happen I considered the privilege of experience (there are many answers to this question). We are able to feel, something that Adam and Eve realized the importance of and something that we fought for in the pre-earth life. And when we experience, good or bad, we develop a greater capacity to understand good and bad, hurt and joy, sorrow and exultation. This brings us closer to being like our maker and shows the great love He has for us.
-Visiting schools where we lead 4th graders through interactive workshops about bullying and "the jungle book". Also hearing a little quiet kid say, "a wolf! oh good, IM FIERCE" after handing him a wolf visor.
-I really love learning. And just think of all the things I havent learned yet! I'd like to hear some of the things the new parents are learning, or the new renovators are learning, the struggling artist, or what the millers are learning.

Hey, how come I never get to be a wolf?!
Wynn, you are amazing! Thanks for sharing your excitement.
Wow Wynn, isn't it such a rush to be learning all these great things?! Thanks for sharing what you are learning. As a new parent, I am learning in a more natural way, more about myself and family and my little daughter. It is a kind of learning that includes a Heavenly Father a lot more and asking for His help. It is the kind of learning I know is teaching me how to have a "mother heart," if you remember that talk. I relish every second of this. Also I learned that breasts become really big when you are nursing!
thank you Emy!
Thanks Wynny and Em for sharing. Wow, Wynn the things I have learned this past week is that demolition takes more than sheer strength and a 16 lb sledge hammer. Using the right tools and calculating the way things will come out helps. Cool weather also helps as you sweat ALL day long. Force yourself to stop and eat lunch while gazing up at Mt. Olympus helps you last the day long. I have pictures of it all. Wish you were all here demolishing with us. love mom
