The whole deal with debt is the ability to pay it back. There is no point in incurring debt that will be onerous.
So... if you are going to incur debt to allow you to get a high paying job then it might be worth it to incur the debt. On the other hand, if you are incurring a lot of debt and you will not be getting a high paying job then what is the point?
The key thing with debt is that it a tool to help you get down the road of life. It is not a tool to help you have fun on life's journey. Those tools, the ones to provide fun, are best paid for in advance.
Everything in our culture says otherwise. One more reason to be a little jaundiced about our culture.
Do you know anyone in particular that's planning on going to medical school?
Look Shwynn, I know what's going on here. You're a little apprehensive planning your life together when your future husband's taking out loans to go to school.
I agree with pops. He's going to be a rich doctor...he'll be able to pay it off. Don't let that hold you back ;).
That is an investment in your future, your career. I view that as being in the class of buying a house. Call me crazy but I'm sticking to it. love you~mom~

Are you asking these questions because of a certain boy?
